Jaime Falcon is a practicing attorney in San Diego. During the credit bubble, and subsequent housing mania, many of his clients with nothing in the way of assets, were suddenly real estate moguls with millions of dollars in properties. In 2005, while his clients were acquiring multiple properties, Falcon decided to rent instead of buy, even though all of the “experts” – brokers, real estate agents, economists, etc - were insisting that he would be frozen out of homeownership forever. Falcon studied the US housing market and decided that the risk of buying a highly leveraged asset in an obvious bubble was too high. It was a lonely place to be in 2005.
When it all came crashing down, Falcon watched with astonishment as individuals who had created the crisis were rewarded – notwithstanding their negligence, recklessness, dishonesty, and criminality. Not only was existing law not enforced, but government stepped in to redirect money, and to change the legal landscape, to insulate - and reward - many of worst actors leading up to the crisis. It was this economic injustice that led to the creation of www.CapitalismWithoutFailure.com: a website focused on navigating the universe of misinformation and elite-level-lawlessness in which we find ourselves.
Jaime Falcon receied a Business Degree and dual Law Degrees - in Civil and Common Law - from McGill University, where he was Editor of the McGill Law Journal. Falcon also received a Master’s Degree in International Economics and Law from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (where Tim Geithner completed his Master’s Degree in International Economics).
Jaime Falcon is passionate about flying and has been an FAA-licensed pilot and ground instructor for 10 years.
